The Madison Communications Teacher of the Year Awards Return for 2026
For 21 years, Madison Communications has proudly celebrated the educators who make a lasting difference in the lives of students across our communities.
Our 21st Annual Teacher of the Year Awards are officially underway, and we are excited to once again recognize the teachers who go above and beyond every single day in Macoupin and Madison Counties.
This program has become a true community tradition – one that highlights the dedication, passion, and impact of local educators who help shape the future.
How the Contest Works
March 2nd – March 31st:
Nominate a teacher who has made a difference in your life or your child’s life by completing the online form at gomadison.com.
April 1st – April 30th:
Cast your vote online for one of the nominated teachers.
May 1st:
The Top 3 Teachers of the Year will be announced!
What the Top 3 Teachers Will Receive
This year, we are proud to honor three outstanding educators with:
- $500 for classroom use
- A custom Teacher of the Year Glass Book Trophy
- A classroom pizza party to celebrate with their students
These awards are designed to support classrooms directly while also recognizing the incredible work teachers do every day.
21 Years of Giving Back: The Impact
Reaching our 21st year is a milestone we are incredibly proud of.
Over the past 21 years:
- 20 years honoring 3 teachers
- 1 special anniversary year honoring 5 teachers (Our 20th Contest Year)
That equals 65 teachers recognized.
If each teacher received $500 for classroom use, that means:
65 × $500 = $32,500 invested directly into local classrooms.
And that figure represents more than just dollars. It represents:
- 65 honored teachers
- 65 classroom celebrations
- Thousands of nominations submitted by families
- Thousands of community votes cast
- 21 years of strengthening our local schools
